Alex Cobb is expected to take Jeff Niemann's (leg) spot in the rotation Saturday against the Braves.
Chris Archer was also under consideration, but Cobb makes the most sense. He held a 3.42 ERA over nine starts for the Rays last year before having season-ending surgery to remove a blood clot and part of a rib. He's also had a couple bad starts for Triple-A Durham this season but has overall pitched very well, posting a 4.14 ERA while striking out over a batter per inning. With Niemann out until at least mid-June, Cobb could be around for a while and deserves immediate attention in AL-only leagues.
