16-team 6x6 H2H keeper league. There's a team in my league who is deparate for closers. While my team is by no means set with closers, I think an option may have presented itself for a long-term improvement.
Henry Rodriguez is one of my closers, and he (a) has sturggled of late and (b) is likely to lose his job when Drew Storen returns. Meanwhile this other team (a) needs saves desparately, (b) owns Drew Storen, so may be more likely to want to take on Henry Rodriguez short-term and (c) is in big need for DL-relief.
I'm debating making an offer of Henry Rodriguez for Sergio Santos. Even though Santos is on the DL he would be a nice addition to my RP when he returns, and the other owner currently has 5 players on the DL and could use some injury relief.
Is Rodriguez for Santos a good deal for me? Is there a larger-scale trade option that I could propose based on our rosters?
Here are both rosters. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Its a tough call, but I would prefer Santos. Rodriguez has really been struggling, but I hate to trade for an already injured pitcher. I would still say Santos gets more saves long term though.
I wouldn't make the move now. Storen still has a long way to go, and Santos's time table is relatively unknown. Why trade away from injury into an injury? I just don't like the direction you are going with this move. Maybe look him up in a week or so and see what happens, maybe you can snag Santos closer to returning.
Waiting isn't a bad option but I don't mind the trade either way. The closer Santos gets to returning the more expensive he is going to get and the closer Storen gets to returning the less value Rodriguez will have. It is a risky move but it could pay off. I will say I am not sold that Santos will be that great when he returns but he should get the job almost immediately.

Well clearly the split opinion on this matter backs up my own thought process of half pros and half cons.
Further complicating the matter is that my league is Toronto-based, so as soon as there's news of Santos getting closer to returning not only does the price for Santos rise, it may even make him untradeable.
Maybe I'll have to play it day-by-day/week-by-week and monitor how situation progress in the next couple week. If David Robertson comes back quickly and resumes his closing gig, it might clear up the picture a little bit to be able to take a bit more risk in trading for Santos while still on the DL.
I follow your logic on making the trade, but as has been stated by others....I have hard time trading for an injured player with no definite time table on his return.
It's a challenge trade, of which I am not usually a fan. Better trades address needs of one team for another.
I do like the trade, but there is a reasonable chance that Santos has a setback and Storen doesn't come back to get the closer role right away. All in all, I would make the offer.
