Greinke for Tommy Hanson & Josh Johnson?

Postby LittleTree » Tue May 15, 2012 9:30 am

I have been offered Greinke for Tommy Hanson and Josh Johnson. On the surface I believe this trade makes sense for me but I'm not sure. Both Hanson and Johnson are obvious injury risks and Johnson has not pitched like he has pre-injury (before missing almost all of last year). However, I believe both of my pitchers also have high ceilings (Johnson can't get any worse can he?) By that same token, I believe Greinke has CY Young stuff (as he proved 3 years ago) and is just entering his prime. I will be giving up depth but I believe this trade is good for me. Do you agree or am I giving up too much? I am in a head-to-head Non-keeper league and I am going to try to attach my roster below. Thanks for your help. C-Ryan Doumit

2B-Dustin Pedroia
3B-Jose Bautista

I would do that. JJ isn't even pitching that well let alone the injury risk and Hanson is an injury risk as well. I think worst case scenario this trade ends up being a wash for you if the two guys you are giving away get better, but to me its more likely a steal.

I'd take that... Johnson will improve and Hanson is , but you want Greinke this year, he will be a beast. Been trying to trade for him, but no luck. My buddies were telling me to avoid Hanson in the draft after all he went through in spring training. So you're definitely getting the best player in the deal, hands down.

INN=3
K=.5

Thanks

Even though I think Greinke is more valuable then Hanson and Johnson this year, I think you are paying too much here. Maybe try and take Johnson or Hanson out and work another trade where you aren't having to pay as much.

Thanks for the help with mine.

Have to agree. I think it's a bit too much to give up for Greinke.
