Bauer on waivers......

Postby shuffcard » Mon May 14, 2012 9:25 pm

I have #1 waiver position and bauer comes off waivers at midnight.

Is he anywhere near being called up?

speculation, but i don't see him coming up yet. Still weeks away I would have to think.

Depends how deep you league is, but don't think I'd burn my waiver on him.

Yeah, don't waste your number one waiver priority on him. But definitely keep an eye on him from here on out assuming someone with a lower waiver priority, and therefore less to lose, doesn't put in a claim on him. He's definitely the kind of guy that is going to make an impact right out of the gate. I own him in both of my leagues and I'm waiting patiently. Are you in a Keeper League or no? Someone drafted him, waited only a little over a month, and then cut him? I'm thinking a June call up is likely.

if its a keeper league I would do it. Waiver priority is overrated in baseball...

Not a keeper league

He has been rosterd on and off since spring training.

I almost feel like this #1 waiver is a curse, feels like i've missed out on guys that i would have liked to have had because i didnt want to lose my #1 waiver rank

Still unsure, got 1.5 hrs

There's no guarantee Bauer does anything once he gets up here, so to me it depends MORE on whether or not you are willing to give up a roster spot waiting for him to get the call...the #1 waiver isn't super important to keep, but I would say have some idea of a backup plan in case he doesn't get called up until July/August (because he's taking up a roster spot that you get literally 0 production from).

I still say I would probably do it. There aren't a ton of guys worthy of a guaranteed pickup on waivers, and Bauer has enough up-side to me to do it. He could be a huge help in your playoffs in September.
