I am in first of my 10 team keeper, we keep 6 each year at 120% of their previous cost. It's a weekly H2H, standard cats. Ellsbury has been on the DL nearly all season, yet I am easily second in the league in steals (one team has bonifacio/castro so total overkill), and crushing everyone each week in runs. My thinking is that I don't entirely need Ellsbury's kind of production, so I would like to trade him for someone now, and start getting additional production ASAP. The question is, what is he worth right now to a team looking bad in the standings? Ellsbury will cost $23 next year, while top flight players went into the $40+ range in this years auction, so his price is sweet. FWIW I want power, so that's the kind of guys I am targeting.
Who do I target? Struggling stars (Pujols/Cano/J-UP/A-Gon) or is that shooting too high? Stanton?
My team:
C- Buster Posey 1B- Joey Votto 2B- Ian Kinsler 3B- Jose Bautista SS- Troy Tulowitzki CI -Mike Moustakas MI- Aaron Hill OF- Carlos Gonzalez OF- Jason Heyward OF- Austin Jackson OF- Dirks OF- Cameron Maybin UTIL- Will Middlebrooks
BN- Scott Van Slyke BN- Mayberry
DL- Nolan Reimold DL- Jacoby Ellsbury
P-Cole Hamels P-Craig Kimbrel P-Gio Gonzalez P- Madison Bumgarner P-Chris Sale P-Derek Holland P-Drew Smyly P- Chris Capuano P-John Niese
He might get you a Pujols since he's obviously getting older and its a keeper league, but I wouldn't bank on it. Upton is a little more realistic. Stanton is probably most realistic. I would shoot for it in that order though. If he rejects just go to the next guy on the list.

Yes, but I am looking to win this season and put myself into a big lead right now by trading him with a month left on his DL stint. I don't need a steals/runs guy at this point, and I have always worried about keepers when it gets down to later in the year. Right now I just want as much production as possible. Also, Stanton is the same price as Ellsbury, the others are indeed much more expensive.
I think he should definitely get you one of those struggling stars since he has such good keeper value. Just offer a trade to each player for one of those guys and see who accepts first. Most likely a team that is in last would want to trade for Ellsbury and stash him for next year.

If you are mostly worried about winning this year, then it makes sense to move him.
I would like all the deals for the players you have listed. Are any of there teams struggling, where they might be looking towards next year? I would really like Cano or AGone.
Try for those stars first.
But even if you can't land one of them, Stanton would be a good deal. He has been hitting some bombs lately, and definitely fits your need of power.
