Me and this other owner have been trying to work out a trade involving Carlos Santana and Dan Uggla.

This is the latest that's on the table.

I Get: Dan Uggla and Justin Verlander
I Give up: Carlos Santana, Dustin Ackley, Billy Butler, Jake Peavy

Is that too much to give up , or should I accept this offer?

It's about right. I don't love it because I really like Butler and Santana but I don't have faith that Peavy will stay healthy and Verlander is a beast. Plus you have enough talent on your bench to make up for your loss at C and Util while making your SP a lot better.

I think it is fair enough. I love me some Verlander. I would pull the trigger.

I would pull the trigger. You need an ace pitcher to solidify your rotation. You are giving up a bunch of pieces but your hitting can make up for it barring injury. WIth the 2 empty slots you can get Espinosa as a backup 2B to Uggla and Lucroy if available as another catcher option.

Yeah, go for it I suppose. You're getting the best player in the deal, so, even though it sucks giving up Santana, you end up winning, I think, plus you get a chance to put Montero in there to get some AB's, and he'll heat up even more here soon.

I like this deal. You have Montero to move into your C spot, Ackley is overhyped, and Uggla and Verlander are great acquisitions.

It is not a bad deal and you are getting some great players, but I think you are giving up too much. I think this improves you SP, but doesn't help you in hitting categories. I think it is a step back. Santanna to Montero you take a serious hit. Ackley to Ugglas you get a nice upgrade. We could say still your advantage. Butler to whom? Serious downgrade. You make up for it with Verlander. Can you give him something else besides butler? I am not sure what.

I agree with this, and I would more than likely say that you win the deal (though giving up Butler hurts cuz he's been very solid and always hits around .300), but still I like it. Go for it.
