12 team H2H POINTS league. Peripherals don't matter...its just points for things like Ks (1), Wins (10), Losses (-5), Saves (15), Holds (12), and Runs Allowed (-1).
As with many teams, my relief corps has been in shambles much of the season. Started when I lost Madson, then my Santiago pickup went predictably bad, then Street got predictably injured, and now Balfour loses out to Fuentes.
Here are my relievers now (we start 4): Axford Pestano Balfour (just lost out to Fuentes apparently) Chisek (looks like Bell will get it back soon and not even sure Chisek still has it anyway) Street (DL)
SO WHO DO YOU PICK UP TO PROBABLY REPLACE BALFOUR AND CHISEK (or do you stick with one or both of them)? WHIR Scott Downs Casey Janssen Dale Thayer Brian Fuentes
In all seriousness though, I don't see many save chances for the A's coming up soon, and I don't trust Fuentes as far as I can throw him (maybe...a foot?)

That's why.

Well I had a post the other day about if I should add Addison Reed or Fuentes for save chances in the short term. Who would you suggest?
Only reason I am adding one of them is because Huston Street went down for me, so I only have 2 closers now. I added Gavin Floyd originally, but I just dropped him for Fuentes last night once the A's named him the closer. I strongly believe you need 3 closers to compete for SV's week to week in a H2H league, and Fuentes or Reed were the only options on the FA/WW.
Something to consider is I have Pestano. Yes he is pretty good for holds but he is starting to get used a bit less. Saw somewhere a week ago the manager said he can't just be using him and Perez all the time...and sure enough he didn't get used much...though the Indians haven't been in hold situations much this week either.
That said, should I maybe gamble on Downs and Fuentes? The thinking being they have the best chance to hold it for long periods considering Street and Santos are gonna come back and take those roles from Janssen and Thayer. That way I could have Street replace Pestano and maybe have 4 closers again once he's back (if Downs and Fuentes hold it down of course).
LOL at the Dirty Fuentes. Yeah, that is definitely one reason to stay away from him! Still he does get it done somehow most of the time. So if not Fuentes, do I go Downs and Janssen maybe? I just am hesitant on Thayer since Street will come back and replace him.
OHH and FYI we only get 2 pickups per week so that is why I can't try and get three of them now.

Well between those 2 options, I guess you HAVE to go with Fuentes, because for the forseeable future, he's the closer. Reed on the other hand is part of a "committee", and who knows what that means with Ventura. I think Reed should close and has the best stuff for the job, but I think we need to wait Ventura out for a bit.
