Encarnacion or Bautista?

Postby MoonCorps » Sat May 12, 2012 8:44 pm

I have Edwin Encarnacion and was offered to trade him for Jose Bautista, who's predicted to be a better player but is off to a rough start. I'm not particularly motivated to drop Encarnacion since he's doing so well, but am wondering if it would be a good gamble. What would you do? Thanks for any advice!

I'm in a 14 team mixed league, h2h in each category (R, HR, RBI, SB, avg; H, ER, K, ERA, WHIP). Here's my roster:

C Yadier Molia
1B Paul Konerko
2B Ben Zobrist
3B Michael Young
SS Asdrubal Cabrera
2B/SS Mike Aviles
1B/3B Edwin Encarnacion
OF Carlos Beltran
OF Angel Pagan
OF Luke Scott
OF Andres Torres
OF Andy Dirks
UT Adam LaRoche
Bench Kyle Seager
Bench Jarrod Dyson
DL Ellsbury

SP Clayton Kershaw, Matt Cain, Gavin Floyd, Ross Detwiler, Ted Lilly
RP Rafael Bentancourt, Joel Hanrahan, Heath Bell, Fernando Rodney, Santiago Casilla

That's no gamble. Hit accept and be happy ;-D

Encarnacion has been hot, but Joey Bat's has some track record.

Great trade. Even with Edwins hot start and Bautistas slow one Bautista should put up significantly better end of year numbers. THIS is the perfect example of buy low and sell high. Congrats.

Accept accept accept. Edwin has had a much better start but, Bautista has much more potential and when he finds his stroke his production will be better than encarnacion's. Also, his numbers aren't terrible just his avg.
