New to the site and man is this cool... Maybe you can help a newcomer. I need to drag my bunch of underachievers out of the cellar, and have another reasonable manager wanting to do the same. There's a potential blockbuster waiting to be made. (Being over 10 years running, most of the managers are too stingy or crooked to make big trades, so this could be a *big* deal.) Its Yahoo, 12 team, standard 5x5 Roto, and 25-man active rosters with 5 more for DL. Tenth round picks and later are 2-year keeper eligible, but let's cross that bridge if/when we come to it.
He proposed sending me: Ryan Zimmerman Michael Bourn Jordan Zimmermann.
And in exchange I send him: Micheal Young Austin Jackson Dan Haren
I haven't been able to bring myself to do it. Looking long-haul, the "balanced swap" of Ryan Zimmerman for Young seems like too much of a risk (injuries). Pitching-wise I'd be losing almost 50 K's by the end of the season, BUT the upside is that J-Zimm will be a 16th round keeper for one more year. The Bourne-Jackson part is where I sort of get a better deal. I think they'll be similar in AVG and Runs by the end of the year, so I'd be giving up a few extra HR and RBI for about 25-30 SB.
Any other ideas?
Facts: -He is in need of MI help, and has a boner for Dan Haren. -I could use a power boost, but I'm really hoping to get a guy like Bourn to pair up with Gordon and account for 90% of my steals. -Ryan Howard should be a nice power addition in June, so I might be okay if I can almost break even in power categories.
So let's start with me sending him Haren and maybe Young, and go from there. Here are our rosters:

I'm not sold on Lester having the year we're all accustomed to. I'm sure I could get Lester instead of J-Zimmermann without adding Santana to the mix.
He had once offered Lester, JZimm and Aramis Ramirez... For Haren and Cano (plus a throw-away player that has since been dropped). I couldn't bear trading my first round pick (Cano) for something that didn't blow me away.
Also J Zimmerman is keeper eligible, while Lester isn't.
Really trying to get any "outside the box" ideas that I'm not seeing, especially from "his team's" POV.
Try countering with CJ in the original deal. I honestly don't think he'll sweeten that deal anymore, but it's worth a try. Btw, I'm HUGE on Jordan Zimmermann, so if you can find a way to land him, do it.
