trade a 2B for a SP??

Postby Jase44 » Fri May 11, 2012 7:45 am

Hey Everyone,

I have Kinsler and Kipnis but can really only roll with one each day. My SP is weak (team in signature)

This is a keeper league 8x5.

My thoughts are trade Kipnis unless I get a really good offer for Kinsler then I might be tempted to take a chance on Kipnis this year.

What kind of pitcher could I go after for Kipnis??

Look around the league and see who could use a 2B. They are the ones that will most likely pay top dollar for a 2B. If you try to make a deal with a team that is fine at 2B they aren't likely going to trade much for something that isn't going to really help them.

Sorry, should have posted a list. Here are some SP on the teams that need a 2nd baseman:

Greinke
Hanson
CJ Wilson
Shields (I have Moore and Price so maybe not another TB)
Kennedy
Garza
Bumgarner
Zimmerman

I think I might try to stretch for Hanson or Wilson. Greinke might be a bit of a stretch and same with Bumgarner.

Any thoughts??

Yep most of those guys I would target if you were going to trade Kinsler. I would probably try and deal for one of the top 4 on the list and then one of the other four on the list. You might need to add something to make it work but I think that would be a good start.

The only thing is, in this league SP are valued less considering it's an 8x5. Generally bats are overvalued.
