I play in a 12 team, yahoo, roto league. I'm currently in 11th place and looking to shake things up a bit. I have two trade offers on the table. Should I accept one? Or should I stay with what I have given my roster? Thanks!! WHIR!!
I need the saves desperately (just lost Mariano) but really can't lose the speed by trading Bourn but am thinking about punting steals. FYI: This is my first roto league ever.
My: Michael Bourn and Justin Verlander for His: Carlos Gonzalez, Chris Sale, and Aroldis Chapman
OR
My: Michael Bourn and Cliff Lee for His: Josh Hamilton, Chris Sale, and Aroldis Chapman
He also said he'd be willing to trade for one of my catchers but would still want Bourn for the steals and one of my "good" pitchers...so if you see anything there, I'd love to hear it.
100% WHIR!! And I'll help as in depth as possible if you help me (in depth) with mine.
My team: C: Buster Posey 1B: Mike Napoli 2B: Robinson Cano 3B: Kyle Seager SS: Asdrubal Cabrera OF: Martin Prado OF: Yoenis Cespedes OF: Kendrys Morales Utl: Michael Bourn Bench: Ike davis, Allan Craig DL: Pablo Sandoval
SP: Justin Verlander SP: Cliff Lee RP: Jeff Samardzija (SP) RP: Chris Perez P: Matt Cain P: Colby Lewis P: Brandon McCarthy Bench: Drew Pomeranz, Trevor Bauer, Max Scherzer
You cant go wrong with either. You can use the help in outfield, I would probably take the one with Hamilton, he's the best hitter in baseball right now, and you get to keep Verlander.
I would jump on that second trade cause u can lose pitching and still have verlander and hamilton i think hamilton will give u 1st-2nd round production for rest of year

I agree with your reasoning on Hamilton. I just don't know if I'd be able to contend in the steals department with Hamilton. Maybe with CarGo getting some steals, I'd have a chance?? I just don't know how much not getting steals hurts me in the roto format, I haven't played in a roto league before. Thanks!

Sale is getting an MRI for a "tender elbow", and wants to start. Meanwhile Reed has been lights out.
Chapman is another guy who may end up in the rotation.
Not the way to go if saves is what you need.
So we had agreed on the deal over email and I was the one who actually sent the trade. He hadn't accepted it yet and I pulled the offer off the table. Didn't realize there was a health issue with Sale. I told the other owner that he could send the trade to me and I'd accept if the elbow results come back good.
And to your point, I just figured I'd be rolling the dice a little in regards to the two pitchers in the deal. I'm in 11th place and need to shake things up. I would be gambling on that Chapman and Sale would eventually end up starters or closers in the near future. And I'd be happy getting the pitchers in whatever role they land in besides middle relief. And if both became starters I'd still have Hamilton and two nice SP's. Thanks for the input... that was helpful and now I'm second guessing the whole trade!
