The Tex trade doesn't at all fix my needs, in fact it probably makes the team worse, but it was too good to say no to. I figured I'd just move a bat later on. I'm thinking of offering Starlin Castro for Josh Johnson. I know Johnson hasn't been great, and is an injury risk, but I have Dee Gordon to fill in and will be losing Peavy soon. Thoughts?

I would sooner try sending Dee Gordon for JJ, if only because it's risk for risk. You're giving up a guy who is performing well without issue for a guy who may or may not be back for regular, dominant duty. I wouldn't do it as is, so either swap out for Gordon or get a little more back.

I wouldn't do that even if JJ was performing well let alone how he's pitched this season. Huge injury risk and you aren't desperate for pitching.

Castro should land you someone more like C. Lee or D. Price... maybe more if the guy is desperate.

Castro has more value than JJ by a good bit. JJ hasn't pitched well and is always a risk to go down for the season. I would agree on someone like Price being close to equal value.
