I assume its Zimmerman the 3B and not the pitcher? If so Id take the Joey Bats side. Sale is on his way to the DL IMO and who knows his value in the bullpen. CJ Wilson= MadBum and Joey Bats > Zimm.
Yep, Team A. I would rather gamble on Bautista breaking out of a funk than Zimmerman staying healthy. Wilson and Bumgarner are a wash for the most part. Sale would be a nice addition, and probably offsets that injury worry, but given the in flux situation of the White Sox closer situation I think Bautista/Wilson is a better acquisition.
I'm not a Zimmerman fan, but at this point, he's a gamble just like Bautista. Bautista has more upside, but neither one is doing what they are paid for. The advantage here is to Bautista, but it's not a huge edge to me.
Wilson is better than Bumgarner, for win potential and K's. I know Bum has 5 wins but with no Panda, he is going to struggle to win all season. Wilson has won 4 and the Angels are hitting like they can. Very slight edge, and less than the difference between Bautista and Zimm.
Sale is going to have value no matter what he does. He isn't likely to be in the pen and not close, so closing value is there, and he excelled as a starter, so clearly he has value there. He is a little better than a typical toss-in but given the unknown about his role, there's not major value here.
Overall, it's a dead even trade to me. I guess you would have to decide which players you really have faith in, because it's just going to be a judgement call either way.

Agree. I like Team A.
