Encarnacion and Edwin Jackson for Ian Kennedy. Please help.

Postby xxxtheizxxx » Wed May 09, 2012 8:23 pm

I would get Encarnacion. I'm calling Jackson a wash. I don't think he holds value.
I would give Ian Kennedy.

My other SPs are Lincecum, Peavy, Shields, Garza, Garcia, Kuroda, and Wandy.

Do I make this trade?

I like Edwin Jackson actually. I would probably do this deal. Kennedy isnt too bad of a price for Encarnacion with the way he is playing.

Are you weak at 3B? I think your pitchers are strong enough to downgrade from Kennedy to Jackson though. I'd probably do it, but more info on your league and team would be helpful.

Not a good trade. You are buying high on Encarnacion and selling low on Ian K. You are stacked at hitting so I like the idea of trading for hitting, but you can get someone better. You don't need E-Jack so just take him out of the deal and upgrade the hitter.

I agree that Edwin Jackson is a wash.

Here's my team and maybe this will help. I'm good at third, but I was looking to beef up my Utility.

C Miguel Montero
1B/3B Miggy
2B Ian Kinsler
3B Michael Young
SS Alexei Ramirez
OF Torii Hunter
OF Carlos Beltran
OF Adam Jones
UTL Bryce Harper
UTL Ben Zobrist
BN Adam Dunn
BN Paul Goldschmidt

SP Ian Kennedy
SP James Shields
SP Jake Peavy
SP Jamie Garcia
SP Matt Garza
SP Tim Lincecum
SP Hiroki Kuroda
SP Wandy Rodriguez
RP John Hanrahan
RP Fernando Rodney
RP Steve Cishek

I'd say you should be the one to be selling 2:1. I would package Ian K and Dunn and go for an elite bat. Since you have utility openings in a sense, you can go after anyone you want. Maybe a disgruntled Pujols owner will be attracted by Dunn's 10 HR. But you should be able to sniff out a top notch player with that package.
