Trade Verlander?

Postby Rally Cat » Wed May 09, 2012 5:49 pm

I have Verlander ,Hamels and Kershaw .
We keep six players . As of right now my keepers would be Braun, Miggy, Bautista , Verlander, Hamels and Kershaw. Miggy ,Braun, and Verlander can all be kept two years after this year. The other three one more after this year. No extentions
i'm thinking of offering Verlander for Granderson who also has three years left including this year.
I tried both Hamels and Kershaw for Granderson with no luck.12 team 5x5 standard roto . We are both just about out of it for this year. hard to believe with these six isn't it? Plus I have Brett Lawrie and Hosmer. My team just isn't doing anything. He's in 10th and I'm in 11th 45 points back. I know its early to be thinking about next year but part of me want to keep the three stud pitchers but I also like the idea of four good hitters. Thoughts?

Assuming the rest of your pitching is solid, I would try to get Granderson for Verlander for sure. Only problem is if you're both out of it, he might be less willing to make a trade to improve for this season. It's worth a shot though. If you were willing to try to give up Kershaw for Granderson, I don't think offering Verlander is too different.

I got an email from the owner of Votto. He said he would trade him to me for Verlander but also wants my second round pick. I would get his 6th rd pick and Jarod Parker back. When picks are included we have to give or get one back. So we all have equal picks in the draft. Verlander can be kept 2 more years after this year. Votto can be kept three more years after this year.
We keep six players . 12 team 5x5 roto
My other keepers right now are Hamels, Kershaw, Miggy, Braun and Bautista.
I might not keep Parker but I might be able to trade him in the off season.
I like Votto but seems like a high asking price . I offered my 3rd but he said he needed my 2nd rounder to trade Votto.

I think that Votto deal is about right. Votto is the better player plus you get to keep him for an extra year. I think I would be ok giving up my 2nd round pick for all of that.

Just finalized the trade. I gave Verlander 2 years left after this year. Hosmer and my 2 rd pick next year
I received back Votto who can be kept 3 years after this year, Jarod Parker and his 5th rd pick next year.
