Who to Grab? Janssen or Addison Reed?

Postby Dukieox » Wed May 09, 2012 3:51 pm

I'm hurting in the closer department due to some injuries. There are a couple guys who have recently been either named closer or have at least gotten some saves due to injury on the wire. Who should I grab with an empty spot on my roster? My current RP's are listed below:

FA Wire:

Casey Janssen (recently named Toronto closer until Santos comes back)
Addison Reed (not official closer yet, but had 2 this past week and Sale is getting an MRI)

Current Closers:
Axford
Sergio Santos (DL)
Scott Downs

Others:
Matt Thornton (will he close instead of Reed if Sale is out for a while?)

Other option is to pick up both and drop Thornton.

Thanks guys, WHIR

Reed. Janssen has a 5+ ERA and Santos is 2-4 weeks away

ETA: I didn't even see the Thornton part. Drop him and nab both

Pick up both and drop thornton. Reed will ge the job at some point is not already based on Sale's MRI and I don't have faith on Downs keeping the job since he's a lefty and either walden or frieri are capable

Enjoying kenley's k-rate. Been loving it all season even without the saves. His ERA will be lowering as the season progresses IMO.
