Boesch had his chance, and he blew it.
Dirks just in the 2 spot has these numbers- .324 AVG/ .398 OBP. he's not going to be replaced with those numbers.
the only way Dirks wont be in the lineup in the 2 spot is if he has the day off.

That's great that you have that much confidence in him. There's no way to say who is right or wrong at this point.

My opinion is that he doesn't have the track record to support the early numbers and he WILL slump at some point this season, probably soon. When that happens we will see how much confidence that Leyland has in him. Dirks' strikeouts are on the rise and Boesch has been on fire. We'll see what happens next.

Just about everybody goes through a slump, at some point, every season.

Maybe I'm just saying this cause I was at a bbq all day and I'm kinda hammered, but am I the only one who always says his name 'Andy A-dirka-dirka-dirka' like in Team America? Yes? Just me? Ok.

Now that I think about it, I can see it, but alcohol probably helps. :-D

BREAKING NEWS!
Andy Dirks is not batting 2nd in today's lineup.
I would guess because the Tigers are facing a left handed pitcher. Ryan Raburn is in the 2 spot and Dirks is batting 7th.
Brennan Boesch not in the lineup.
I'm thinking this is because of Dirks splits.
vs LH- .238/ .407/ .381/ .788
vs RH- .346/ .370/ .558/ .928

if it comes to a pint where Dirks is slumping/struggling to hit or get on base, and Boesch is hitting and getting on base.. then I will have no problem saying they should be switched.

That's basically all I was saying. I still think Dirks is solid, people should just temper their expectations. From what I've read, it sounds like you have.
