Andre Ethier for Longoria WHIR

Postby Botts89 » Tue May 08, 2012 2:56 pm

I just go offered a trade where I would get Longoria for Ethier. Two possible free agents to replace ethier are Jordan Shafer and Alejandro De Aza. It's weekly line changes so I can only start one 3B per week and I do have Beltre so is it worth it? Maybe take the trade and offer Beltrae with someone for an upgrade? Maybe take the trade just to trade him later for something I need? Thoughts?

My Team

C - Buster Posy
1B - Adrian Gonzalez
2B - Kelly Johnson
3B - Adrian Beltre
SS- Elvis Andrus
OF - Matt Holiday, Shane Victorino , Andre Ethier
UTIL - Edwin Encarnation
BENCH - Austin Jackson, Brandon Philips

SP - Justin Verlander
SP - Jered Weaver
RP - John Axford
RP - Jim Johnson
P - Jake Peavy

I like the trade. You Jackson sitting on the bench so you really don't lose anything in your current lineup and Longoria could be pretty nice to have for the championship run. Either that or deal one of your 3B for something but not until Longoria actually comes back.

Thats what I'm thinking of doing. The problem is a large drop off in RBI's. Ethier has the most RBI's on my team with 30.Jackson only has 11. Now that I look at it. Ethier is the league leader in RBI's. I could pick up Cody Ross who has 21 RBI's this season. Thoughts?

Definitely do this deal. Ethier will not keep a pace like this up and although Longo is hurt this isn't a bad price for him. With this deal your team will be excellent.
