A high-ranking official with a National League club told Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi of FOXSports.com that Kevin Youkilis is "being shopped everywhere." Rosenthal and Morosi report that Diamondbacks, White Sox, Dodgers, Indians and Pirates are "among the teams with varying levels of interest" in the veteran corner infielder. Youkilis is batting just .215/.301/.341 during another injury-plagued season while being paid $12 million, so we don't imagine that the Red Sox will get a ton in return unless they're willing to eat some of Youk's salary. Dealing Youkilis would allow the Red Sox to install Will Middlebrooks as their everyday third baseman.
I actually hope the Red Sox keep Youk. He's not THAT bad. If they can't get any value for him just make him a $12M bench player for now. He'll adjust.
I've always thought Youk had the same mentality as Clemens did, I see him bouncing back in a big way next season. He comes across as a jerk but I always loved having guys like him on my team.
I'll also come out and say this probably wouldn't be happening if the Sox hadn't chosen Bobby V to manage. Get rid of Bobby and keep Youk. They're gonna regret it if they give him away for peanuts.

Kevin Youkilis' days as a starter in Boston might be over. From Rotoworld:
According to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe, Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine informed Kevin Youkilis that he will be "sitting for a while" and Will Middlebrooks will be given the chance to play everyday. Middlebrooks is on fire over the past couple of days, so the Red Sox can't afford to sit him right now. They also don't want to keep playing Adrian Gonzalez out of position in right field. It's fair to wonder whether we're entering the last days of Youkilis in a Red Sox uniform.

He seems to be similar to David Freese from what I've seen of him.

I predict a lot of disappointment regarding Middlebrooks in the future (real life and fantasy). the 5+:1 K:BB ratio is scary. Luckily he is only 23 but unfortunately he's shown contact issues at every level.
that's why I recently traded him in my dynasty trying to capitalize on his great start and hype, but watching him continue to hit currently while the rest of my team suddenly goes into a slumber doesn't make it easy to watch.
