This WW situation is nuts.

Postby ron paul for pres » Mon May 07, 2012 12:53 pm

One of the guys in my league just bailed. The decision was made to just cancel his team, and now his entire roster is on the WW:

Darvish, McCutcheon, Posey, Tulo, Garza, Bourn, Longoria, etc.

Obviously, a lot of guys are going to be trying to pick up the same players at the same time. How exactly does this work? I get that you can set your WW priority. But is there some kind of order in which players are chosen? Can you even pick up multiple players automatically? Do you just go to the back of the list and keep going? How in the heck does the computer decide in which order to start handing out players?

My WW priority is 10/12, so I'm not targeting the big dogs. But I might be okay because what I need is SP, and most of the guys paying attention are going to go after the bats.

Does anyone have any clue what is about to happen here?

I'm fairly certain it goes like this.

Everyone will put in multiple waiver claims on multiple players.

Team A is first in waiver order gets whoever is first in his priority. Then he moves down below Team D
Team B is second and gets whoever is first in his priority assuming it wasn't the same guy as team A had first. If that's the case, he gets his second priority and moves down after team A
Team C etc.
Team D etc.
...
Team A gets whoever the highest priority he put a claim on and is left on the WW
Team B same here.

Hope that makes sense.

That makes sense. I put in 9 claims; hopefully I'll get at least one. Does this order look alright? I'm targeting SP.

Darvish, Garza, Cueto, Posey, Tulo, Brandon Morrow, Adam Jones, McCutcheon, Bourn

Not saying that's their true order of value; far from it. But I'm pretty set at OF, I know Tulo is going first round, I need SP, and my waiver order is 10/12.

C - C Ruiz
1B - Prince
2B - Kinsler
3B - M Cabrera
SS - A Cabrera
OF - Bruce
OF - Hamilton
OF - Beltran
DH - (open- A Rod is one DH game away from eligibility)
BN - A Rod
BN - A Jackson
BN - M Aviles
BN - Harper
BN - Trout
SP - Strasburg
SP - A Sanchez
SP - Dempster
SP - J Santana
SP - L Lynn
SP - Worley
SP - Detwiler
SP - Saunders
RP - Axford
RP - Putz
RP - H Rodriguez
DL - Storen

I forgot Matt Moore. He needs to be in there, too. So basically my order for SPs is:

Darvish
Garza
Cueto
Moore

Is that good, or does Moore's potential warrant going any higher?
