Trade Hosmer/J Garcia for CJ Wilson/G Gonzalez? WHIR

Postby footballisbetter.com » Mon May 07, 2012 8:35 am

I might be able to pull this trade off. I've been hurting with my pitching all season long.

I would give: Hosmer and Jaime Garcia
I would get: CJ Wilson and Gio Gonzalez

Hosmer can be kept for $10 for the next 2 years. None of the others involved would be keeper options. It keepers weren't involved I wouldn't really ask. But should I get more for 2 years of Hosmer at $10?

My team:
C- Posey
C- W Ramos
1B- AGone
2B- Kinsler
SS- Andrus
3B- Lawrie
MI- Peralta
CI- Hosmer
OF (4)- D Jennings, Swisher, Ichiro, Rios
U- Encarnacion
Bench- Dunn, Francour

Pitchers (start 9)- Lester, J Garcia, Demptster, Garza, Holland, Lilly, Samardzia, D Robertson, Jim Johnson
Bench- F Francisco
DL- Dan Hudson, Leubke

With Dunn raking on the bench and 2 DL pitchers dragging you down, I'd take the deal. Jaime doesn't look that great this season and while Hosmer is awesome, he's still getting used to the bigs. You get 2 of the best lefties in the game here, and really bolster a strong team.

I think I would do the deal as well. You have a pretty good team and you would have a shot to win it this year and this deal could go along way in that regard. Losing Hosmer isn't easy but I don't think you are going to lose a lot from him. I think he will still have some ups and downs through next year. Also pretty hard to get more for a guy who is struggling the way he has been.
