I don't want to move the guy but I really need to upgrade at SS and I am absolutely buried up to my eyes in CI. I figured to get Tulo, I have to give up value and none of the others are enough value.

I have made attempts at Reyes (offered Lawrie/Avila and Konerko/Avila) Asdrubal (Lawrie, A-rod, Konerko all in 1-for-1 deals) and also at Hanley (Lawrie/Avila) and have been turned down by all. The wire is empty ( top SS Cozart, Andino, Ransom, Tejada) so i am just sitting here on my thumbs.

Any advice or trade targets you have for me?

I agree you have an overload at CI, i don't think you want to give up a guy who will probably end up a top 3 fantasy player in a dynamite offense. I would try to move A-Rod instead for a mid-level SS (Elvis Andrus, maybe you can get Reyes, Jimmy Rollins or Dee Gordon might be more likely) 1-for-1. If you're still into trading MIggy, I might try to package him and A-Rod for CarGo (or similar) and Elvis Andrus (or similar). These will probably only work if the other guy has 2 SS and can let one go. Avila is probably expendable too, so if you get lucky and the guy with 2 SS needs a Catcher you'll have a lot of leverage (that's a lot of "ifs" though).

In a 12 team league, someone needs a catcher, you might try to move Avila for a decent OF (I'm thinking BJ Upton or maybe try to gamble on Bryce Harper).

If you want to do the Miggy / A-rod / Avila / Gallardo for McCutchen / Tulo / Garza its not terrible I just think there is a better trade out there.

Those trades would only work if the other team needs 3B or C.

If this were my team, my strategy would be to see if anyone has 2 SS's (Team A) and see what they need. You can find a different team that needs a catcher (Team B) and try to trade Avila to Team B to get what Team A needs FIRST, then package A-Rod and that guy to Team A for a decent SS 2-for-2 (Elvis Andrus, Asdrubal come to mind) and a decent OF. This may not be easy to pull off, but if it works you can make some good upgrades at both SS and OF without giving up Miggy.

Whatever you do, just don't get stuck trading Avila for another 3B...in case Team A doesn't want to deal you don't want to get stuck with ANOTHER 3B and kind of screw yourself. Ideally whoever you get for Avila from Team A will at least sort of help you (as a backup plan).
