Lincecum for Ortiz. Selling too low?

Postby miraclemetman69 » Sun May 06, 2012 9:52 pm

In a jam here. I know I am obviously selling low(i get ortiz) but I feel like i really need a big bat to put my team over the top. i am getting morse back from DL which will help but i feel like ortiz+morse makes my offense that much more reliable (especially that most of my guys are playing way over their heads right now). i think lincecums struggles are very real and think that the longer i wait the more untradable he becomes. i think my pitching can still be good without him.

THANKS

If you're serious about trading Lincecum, I might wait a little longer (give him 2 or 3 more starts). Your pitching is solid without him, but if he shows signs of coming out of this funk you might actually be able to do BETTER than Ortiz. If in his next start he continues to struggle maybe you pull the trigger on getting Ortiz.

I agree with you on paper, you certainly need offense more than pitching, and there will be some valid SP (not Lincecum, but solid) that emerge from call-ups/injuries/etc...

Thanks for your input. Not crazy about this deal. I feel like Big Papi might wear down a bit as the season goes on

Lincecum deserves at least 3 more starts before you think about trading him. As of right now Lincecum's potential alone should warrant a better deal than just Ortiz.

Help with mine?

This is closer than you guys are making it out to be. I guess I wouldn't take this deal, but I would think about it very hard. If you could just add in a marginal hitter and get a decent starter like Morrow or someone like that I wouldn't hesitate.
