Nats Werth-less for three months: Washington manager Davey Johnson said outfielder Jayson Werth will be sidelined for "a few months" after he broke his left wrist Sunday night while trying to make a sliding catch in a loss to Philadelphia. "It's a clean break," Johnson said after the game. "He's going to be out for a while." According to MLB.com, Werth had surgery on his wrist Monday and is expected to miss three months. Werth was injured when his glove got caught underneath him and his wrist bent backward as he tried to grab Placido Polanco's sinking liner. Werth stayed on the ground briefly, in obvious pain, before throwing the ball back to the infield. The Nationals are expected to utilize a platoon consisting mainly of Roger Bernadina and Xavier Nady in right field during Werth's absence.
