I'd wait until the weekend is up and he's (presumably) made his decision on surgery.

Felipe Paulino shut out the Yankees. what are the thoughts on Paulino? his next start is against the White Sox in Chicago.
based on his numbers I would think avoid at all costs, but apparently he has potential.

I've used him as a spot starter in the past. He's an okay gamble.

I like Paulino personally but the Royals isn't the greatest situation to pitch in so I'd only use him for spot starts.

I stashed him in a 20-team dynasty H2H league. I'd definitely consider him against weaker teams or as a source of strikeouts if ratios are already decided one way or the other by Friday/Saturday. In a more shallow league he's more of a stream option.
