Chris Sale.... Closer?

Postby Izenhart » Fri May 04, 2012 11:39 pm

Yahoo is reporting Sale is being moved to the bullpen to be their closer starting this Sunday. That really sucks! I have Sale on virtually every team and was expecting big things from him as a starter. :-P

Sale has been good, not great, as a starter thus far. I expected him to be a borderline top 30 starter. Now he has the potential to be a top 10 closer. Depending on how available saves are in your league, he could be more valuable now (or after successfully converting a few saves) than he was before. Find someone in your league with good starters who needs saves and trade him for their 3rd best starter. It's likely someone just as good or better than Sale was as a starter.

apparently he's has some elbow tenderness and the white sox don't think his arm can hold up over a full season of starting, hence the move to the bullpen. doesn't sound like they have much of a choice from what i've heard.

Yeah this is really disappointing news. I had a wtf type moment as I read it on my team page. Like my year could get any worse now my #3 SP putting up 23 ppg is a RP that I don't need. This year looked great going into it with Cain, Romero, Pineda and Sale as my top four. So much for that. I guess I just have to look forward to Bauer being called up.

Tender elbow and yo-yoing him around doesn't sound appealing to me. The SP elig for a closer is cool though.
