I think Jerome will be just fine. The kid has great stuff and will be their 2nd best pitcher this year behind schimdt.

I think it would be a mistake to send him down at this point. With a solid year behind him, they need to let him tough it out this season. I'm sure a couple games in Pac Bell will get his confidence back up.

Is everyone starting him the first week? I've got him on my team, but I'm a little leery of putting him in. Any thoughts?

I think the situation here was that since Jerome Williams is such a young pitcher and doesn't have all that much experience, his spring struggles were more magnified than they needed to be.

A lot of solid major league starters have rough springs, but no one really worries about it because they already have a solid reputation. So, i'm glad he's not being sent down because i think, after what he did last year, he deserves a shot to prove that he's just working things out and he'll be fine when the real season starts.

so, i credit the Giants for realizing this and going forward... I definitely think sending him down would've been a mistake. I'm glad they're treating him w/ the respect that a veteran would get because he is that good.

I'm with you, mattus.. its not like they're dropping Jason Schmidt for his crappy spring. http://bigleaguers.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/6873/news

thanks swinger, I needed to see Alou's comments to help me sleep, I have the kid on 3 teams. Sounds like he has trouble with the Arizona air. I'll have to keep that in mind when he visits Zona
