Pitching Back Fire!

Postby pungent » Wed May 02, 2012 7:43 pm

Made some serious trades this off-season to bolster my pitching staff and I'm now suffering the repercussions! Although, trading Pineda and parts for CC, my staff is seriously getting blasted! Ubaldo officially sucks and Yovani can't stay away from jams, Matusz can't develop into his hype (although he had a good start, but if you look at his numbers that game he was VERY lucky), Hughes I'm convinced he'll never be a stud pitcher as early signs pointed, and don't get me started on Nolasco and his unlucky stats every year! What's a guy gotta to do to turn this thing around? At least my Price, CC and Kennedy are doing good.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of talent can I get for Yovani and Ubaldo in a deal for an upgrade in SP?

Thoughts?

My guess is you could find someone near Gallardo's ADP, but you'd have to use Ubaldo as a throw in only. I would wait and see as we're only a month in, for you're not going to get much of an upgrade with those two guys unless someone has absolutely zero pitching depth and are desperate to take a chance on two guys.

No doubt, I think I'm just in panic mode already. Started out sizzling going 24-4 and now I'm sitting at 28-13 and currently getting stroked by a mediocre team at best! Doesn't help going against Braun and Chris friggin Johnson this week either!

I'm putting a couple feeler trade offers out right now for those two. Also, might consider throwing in an OF to see if I can upgrade a bat as well.

Just an idea, but what do you think about a guy like Cliff Lee? Getting older in age plus he's injured. Thoughts out there?
