So I had just traded Michael Young for Adrian Gonzalez when I got a blockbuster proposal. On the surface it looked silly and I scoffed. However, looking at the numbers and thinking through it, it may not be that bad after all. Here is the proposal:
I get Jered Weaver, Kelly Johnson, Yoenis Cespedes, and Brennan Boesch
I trade Justin Verlander, Dustin Pedroia, Bryce Harper, and Carlos Lee
At first I thought no way, but I feel like there may be some legitimacy in it. My gut still says no, that it comes nowhere near replacing Verlander and Pedroia, and that I'll kick myself when all is said and done. Opinions? Scoring and roster below:
