Scoop up Damon?

Postby cdrift24 » Wed May 02, 2012 9:00 am

I'm in a 16 team league that is extremely low on talent on the wire. Is Johnny Damon worth grabbing? Will he get enough AB's to be worth gambling on, I mean the guy can hit... I would drop Chone Figgins to get him, I don't need any SB help but someone like Damon could help the average & K/BB ratio. What are you thoughts? I don't have a limit on the number of claims I just can't pick up anyone I drop, and I don't think I would miss Figgins?

If you need some of the pop (say 10-12 HR) that Damon could get, then go for it. He won't be amazing but he won't hurt you too much in any category. You won't miss Figgins as he seems to have turned back into a pumpkin after a promising spell.

I would take Damon over Figgins.

I take Damon over Figgins in every category based on past stats. Only thing I'd be wary of is the number of at bats he's gonna be getting. Shelley Duncan has been playing decent in Cleveland so they'll probably platoon left field.
