Hart for ARod?(WHIR)

Postby kidsilk » Mon Apr 30, 2012 11:18 am

Mixed league, keeper league, points league H2H

I have been offered Corey Hart and Jack Hanranhan for my ARod. I have Alex Liddi to put at third base or use Hanranhan there if I do this trade. After looking at my roster below would you do this? If I did this I would also move Mauer to first base and put Hart at Utility.

My Roster:

C-Posey
1B-Lind
2B-Kinsler
3B-ARod
SS-Gordon
OF-Braun
OF-Bourn
OF-Heyward

BN-Tabata
BN-Rios
BN-Liddi
DL-Morse

RP-Bard
RP-Capps
RP--Marmol
RP-Nathan

BN-Marcum
BN-Volstad

id stick with AROD for now. Can you flip a catcher for another 3B? I would try that first and then look at this deal.

Honestly right now i woudlnt make the deal. Corey Hart has been playing great but your outfield looks great already. Arod isnt playing very poorly as of right now and i dont feel corey hart is a super upgrade over any of your OF. Hold onto him. Thanks for your input on my post

Nah, no deal - where does hart play? Also, it's best to not trade for closers, especially on a non-contending team like the Pirates, who will probably trade him to a contender where he turns into a middle reliever. I've heard that the Angels expressed interest in him.

Help out?:

The answer is a definite no on this one. I know he's throwing in a closer here but if you look at Arod's and Hart's relative values, it isn't all that close. I know Arod is in decline but even in decline he's still a fairly valuable 3rd baseman. If you were in my league and I was hurting at 3B, then I would cough up more than Corey Hart to make a deal happen. I also don't tend to value closers very highly.
