Frank Francisco or Matt Thornton? WHIR

Postby Leiter Fan » Mon Apr 30, 2012 10:08 am

Who would you ratehr have in your bullpen in a H2H league?

As a Mets fan, I am painfully aware of what Francisco has been doing, but I was curious what the feeling is in Chicago regarding Thornston's chances of being annointed the permanent closer. This would be an easy choice for me to drop Francisco for Thornton if the latter were named the closer.

FYI, I also have Motte and Downs (with Storen on the DL), so my saves are not completely dependent on this move.

Thanks guys! As always, I'll help with any of yours. Just leave a link.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I think I like Thornton.. I know that job isn't his yet, but I think it will be. And he's been pretty good so far this season. Francisco's knee worries me.. even if he can get it together and quit blowing saves, i think his knee will start to be a factor as the season wears on. Since you're not dependent on this deal, I take Thornton and wish for the best.

agree with this but im also thinking the CWS could be a closing merry go round...if francisco can get healthy he will get the saves.
