Use #1 Waiver on Crawford???? Always WHIR!!!

Postby somervillesoxfan » Mon Apr 30, 2012 9:06 am

Carl Crawford has been dropped in my 10 team H2H keeper league. I have the #1 waiver, should I use it on crawford? My boston bias is telling me to grab him because he has the potential to really contribute when he comes back, hopefully in June. There is also a chance that the rehab doesnt work and he needs TJ and is gone for the season. Help me decide if I should use my #1 waiver on him. Ive got a pitcher to drop for him. Below is my current hitting lineup and the stat categores we use. Please help and leave a link, I always respond.

I would say no. He struggled so much last year and has been hurt so much in Boston. You would have to wait for June for him to come back and that doesnt add in the time it would take for him to get back into playing form and then be a contributor. I would hold off. I think Crawford is damaged goods. Plus your OF isnt bad with Kemp, Upton and Hamilton.

I agree with the above. I'd hold off.

I would also say to hold your waiver priority. In a 10 team league, he might even clear waivers, in which case you might want to tke a shot assuming you have a second DL space for him.

Yeah, wait it out. In a keeper league there will be better options than an older, injured Crawford with your #1 waiver.

I'd wait as well. In a 10 team I feel somebody is more likely to drop a bigger name without the injury risks.

In a 12 teamer I would ... but in a 10-teamer there are more options and less of a need for desperation. I concur with the above.
