Kenley Jansen - what is he worth?

Jansen has now converted 2 successive save opps for the Dodgers, and in at least the latest one Guerra was definitely available.
Safe to add Jansen if it requires dropping an interim closers such as Cordero/Henry Rodriguez/Santiago/Francisco/Rauch/Rodney etc?
How do you rank him among the speculative/shaky closers listed above at this point?


In one league I have Santos on the DL and i managed to pick up Cordero to replace him.
Jansen was dropped by his owner (who needed the roster space) just before his 2 saves, and he is on waivers now.
Worth the gamble to drop Cordero for Jansen? I also have Marshall, Kimbrel, Broxton so I have more closers than any other team in my league.
At the very worst Im losing a few saves in the short term, but getting a better pitcher with more Ks and lower ratios.
At best I will have my 5th season long closer when Santos comes back, and one of the top 5 most dominant relievers in the game adn I can either enjoy the easy win in Saves every week or trade one of these guys.

Is that the right move?

KJ has a chance to be a top closer with good #'s and lots of K's, it seems to me to be worth the short term loss for the best name in that list

I would drop Cordero for him, unless waiver priority is an issue.

thanks for the replies guys.
as it turns out I had used my 3 adds for the week, so i had to wait until midnight to pick him up... and of course another owner grabbed him a few minutes before my Add/Drops reset.
really disappointed that i missed out on acquiring a 2nd 100K RP that also may rack up saves

Yea I blew it with Jansen, drafting both he and Guerra, but dropping him after the opening days of struggles. I also have Kimbrel so I feel your pain.
