Interesting Question! Calling All BAseball Guru's......

Postby etl1692 » Sun Apr 29, 2012 3:09 pm

I know this may be really hard to predict but is Bryce Harper the real deal? Only reason why I ask is that I have a trade in: My Lincy for his Justin Upton. This is somewhat leaving my pitching in shambles, but Upton would be such an upgrade. Since I picked up Bryce Harper should I hope he is AROUND the same caliber player as Upton? I know this is asking alot here, but since I grabbed BRuce should I hold onto Timmy? Or Still go for Upton. My outfield would be soooo sick! Kemp, Upton, Upton, Harper, Aza, Gardner! WOW

Is Harper the real deal? Yes.

Will he reach that potential this year? Not likely.

He is gold in a keeper league, but in a redraft league, his ceiling is probably as a 3rd OF.

And I say this as a fellow Harper owner (in a keeper league).

Unfortunately, I agree with both of the above posters - Justin Upton is a top-10-type hitter. However, I think there's a decent chance that Harper could, even this year, be a top 25 OF, so, are they the same guy? No... But, you have to give something reasonably big to get Upton, so I might stick with Harper.

Hope that helps...

Thank you to soty for hooking me up with another awesome sig!

I kind of feel like you HAVE to do it, because you'd be getting Justin Upton...but I don't like the state of your pitching squad after that. You might have to flip one of those OFs, after you get Upton, for another pitcher. But yeah, I would take it and worry about that later.
