what is the deal with him? i heard he lost his closer's job, is it permanent and who is his replacement?

Scott Downs has replaced him ... for now. Hard to say if/when Walden gets the job back, but that'll largely hinge on their performances going forward, no doubt. The Angels went World Series-or-bust in the offseason, so they're not going to let Walden learn on the job like they could afford to do last year. Downs could very well run with the gig.
The Angels are widely known to be looking for bullpen help, though, so I wouldn't discount the possibility that they go out and trade for someone to close.

AS stated above, Downs is his "temporary" replacement, but understand this. No one had more blown saves last year than Jordan Walden. He did not have a long leash, and it has been pulled.
