worst decision ever?

Postby miracles716 » Sat Apr 28, 2012 11:34 am

2 weeks ago i dropped mike trout bc i was told by a inside source he would not be up until midseason, well lo and behold i was watching the yankee game to see a blurb that bobby abreu was just released, as i raced to my computer to add him, i find he has already been filled 5 minutes ago, so did i make a mistake in dropping him in the first place?

The Angels outfield was reeling all year. It was only a matter of time that Trout would be called up. Are there other outfield options in your league?

See if you can make a trade for a decent OF who has underachieved so far.

I dont think it was the worst decision ever, the Angles outfield is still crowded and Trout will have to earn his playing time. If he starts off slow then he will be in a platoon.

What players are available on the waiver wire?

No, it's not the worst decision. I've earned myself a solid 2-2 start to the season by having guys like Harper, Trout, and Bauer eat up roster spots in a REDRAFT league since the draft. THAT is stupid, and I'll admit it. There's no telling what Trout will do. My guess is, until he adapts a little, that Trout will have a slow start. Wait for the % owned numbers to taper off and for the name brand to cool down, and then if you're really kicking yourself still try and pitch a decent offer for him. My gut feeling is you won't feel like you missed out on much.

It sucks but not the worst decision ever. You really don't know how Trout will produce at the MLB level. More rookies struggle than dominate. He should be good for SB but right now that is all I would count on him for. BA, HR and other numbers are going to be a work in progress.

That is hardly the worst decision ever--don't sweat it. The odds that he explodes right away and stays on the roster isn't as high as you'd think. As long as it's not a keeper league, the decision you made was a completely reasonable one.
