Too much for Pujols?

Postby schellsbells » Sat Apr 28, 2012 2:17 am

League is 10 teams head to head.

Guy is offering me Pujols for Mark Teixeira, Giancarlo Stanton, and Tommy Hanson. I want to pull the trigger but at the same time I feel like Hanson is a deal breaker, so I wanted to get your opinions. Even though I drafted Stanton relatively high, my team has been successful with him on the bench for the past several weeks, and my outfield is pretty good with Justin Upton, Ethier, and Desmond Jennings. Losing Hanson would sting, as my pitching staff is not as strong. Without Hanson, my staff would include Cain, Greinke, Anibal Sanchez, and Colby Lewis. However, with me trading 3 guys for 1, it would open up my roster and there are several quality pitchers on waivers (Niese, Worley, etc) as well as outfielders that I could pick up.

What say you guys? Thanks in advance.

Wait. You'd be the one giving up Tex, Giancarlo and Hanson?

That's nuts. Way too much.

i wouldn't do this trade. for sure pujols is the best player in this deal. but teix at least hits a lot of HR and plays in a good lineup at a friendly park. anyway, hanson is not the deal breaker for me. i think giving up teix and stanton for pujols is too much. maybe somehow given your lineup it is ok/makes sense to lose these two or even three guys for pujols. but unless the other side's team sucks, i don't know if i risk improving someone else's team that much.

I agree with the other posts. Pujols is one of my favorite players and has been on my keeper team for 5 years now but that is entirely way too much to give up.

105 regular season at bats without a homer. Double play machine. Something is wrong with Albert. He doesn't even try to go the other way anymore, leading me to believe he doesn't trust his bat speed anymore, like maybe that old injured elbow he has had for years is ailing him, he also broke his wrist last year and came back to early. If his name wasn't Albert and he hadn't been dominant for years he wouldn't even be owned by anyone right now. His history warrants him being owned, but not paying historic prices for him in a trade.

No way. Considering how bad Pujols has been performing he is probably looking to get rid of him so you can probably counter and get him for much cheaper.
