That's an awfully expensive upgrade. Easily could cost $20M for two months of service from a guy that has a .700 OPS in AAA.
Fans seem to like to complain about stuff like this but if it costs them an additional 20M (nearly impossible to make that in your first season of arb) then he is just silly awesome and it's still a win-win.
I also think that fans are getting fixated on the 80 or so PA's that he has already. It's not a guarantee that he struggles but if he does then he can go back to AAA and they can play the service time game.
I'm not complaining, I couldn't are less about how much they're paying for 2 months. And it's not year 1 of arb, it's year 4 which wouldn't exist if not for being a super 2. In all likelihood it will be $20M+ while losing out on a year of $500k league minimum or whatever it is. Sure, winning is important, but when else is a marginal short-term improvement worth that much? It's silly that teams are forced to manage their players that way, but they keep deciding to keep it in the CBA and (most) teams are going to keep playing the waiting game.

He'll have to be Super Timmy good for it to cost them 20M. If he's that good then they will happily call it a win-win.
In the LA/WAS game, during the inning where two baserunners reached on errors I found it interesting that the first error was a Gordon throwing error to Loney. Then, the next pitch is a ground ball to Loney who makes a throwing error to Gordon.
