Which end of this trade gets the better deal?

Postby chillbro » Thu Apr 26, 2012 9:28 pm

Sorry ive been posting about this trade a lot but hopefully this will be the last time. Who do you guys think gets the better end of this trade?
Curtis Granderson, Elvis Andrus, and Carlos Santana for Carlos Gonzalez, Evan Longoria

EDIT: Would replacing Santana with Jay Bruce be a better deal for me than the one above? Its a lot harder to come by catchers but Bruce hasnt been doing much lately

Thanks a ton guys, you're always really helpful

Tough one, but I just feel more comfortable with Gonzalez and Longoria. However, whatever side you get, you probably have good reason for it given the positions. One really can't complain about either side given the scenario.

Need to see your team... but yeah. I'd stick streaky bruce in there, keep santana as a badass C and pull the trigger. Get Cargo and Longoria.

Could argue either way, but this is my opinion without more knowledge.

Pretty even deal. Grandy and Cargo are more or less a push. Andrus and Santana are great options at weak positions, and while Longo is a top-tier 3B, the position is deceptively deep this season. As long as you're not rolling Headley or Morel out there, I'd probably sit tight. Really can't go wrong, though.

Would take the Cargo side. Not sure that I would add Bruce. I think I like him more than Santana. Could depend on who you would replace Bruce with in the OF and who you would replace Santana at C with. OF isn't as deep and I worry about Santana staying healthy all year.
