Heath Bell for Gio Gonzalez?

Postby redkanefox2009 » Thu Apr 26, 2012 10:21 am

I would give up Bell for Gonzalez. I'm in a head to head league, and I don't have too many closers as it is, so is this worth giving up the saves that Bell would give?

My Pitchers:
Justin Verlander
Matt Cain
Jordan Zimmermann
Heath Bell
Brandon League
Jordan Walden
Chris Sale
Vance Worley
Jaime García
Philip Humber
Daniel Hudson

In a vacuum I am a huge fan of this trade because I think Gio is a stud and I value a stud SP over a closer and there are still a lot of teams whose closer situation is not set in stone so you can chase saves as things progress. It might help to know how many teams are in your league and what kind of setup guys/crappy closers are available on the WW?

Ok I would definitely do it then. You can always stash Santos if you have a DL spot and in a league that shallow you can probably pounce on a White Sox guy when Santiago is inevitably (in my opinion) replaced. Not to mention Bard could find his way back to the bullpen in Boston etc.
