What a joke ... Both Balfour and Santago blew the save in the same game, which also cost Sale the CG and Parker the Win.
Do I drop Hector Santiago? I might just pick up Addison Reed on principle... or perhaps Francisco Cordero or maybe just go for the reliable Jonny Venters even though there are no saves?

Couldn't agree more.
What a frustrating day:
Parker in line for the Win Sale in line for the loss -- BUT a CG loss. Balfour blows the save, denying Parker a win Then Santiago blows the save to the tune of an epic 3 ER, and gets tagged with the loss
I wonder if it's better to just have a better arm in that slot regardless of the save... Chapman gets me no saves, but man is he less annoying. In this regard, I could grab Addison Reed, Jonny Venters... thoughts?
I Ended up switching off Francisco for Santiago in one league too. It drives me crazy. The 3rd closer spot is killing me in a number of leagues.
I have Broxton in reserve in another league and really hate the guy and he is on a team that can not buy a win, but now I am thinking switching to him over Santiago. Or going with Casilla who I also own in that league.
Add in Crawford looking like a complete waste of food now. Bad day so for.
Here's the other thing ... There are a handful of teams in my league that carry no closers. I wonder if I am better off just basically carrying one closer so that I get the 1-2 saves needed to beat those teams and otherwise just not worry about the stat. I am in a 9x9 league after all, and I wonder if hammering down era/whip with a stud like Venters or Addison Reed would serve me better.
As you can see from my pitchers thats basically the strategy im using. Ive added a few closers just to satisy some saves but i basically will not lose any of the pitching CATs. Its a viable strategy and if the other teams have next to no closers then i say go for it.

Maybe, esp. since it is 1 in 9 cats vs 1 in 5. The problem with MRs though is they are MRs. They are highly erratic year to year and can fall off a cliff in a hurry. Venters is probably safe though.
