Miggy for Hamilton

Postby jovenparque » Wed Apr 25, 2012 5:36 pm

If you're the Miguel Cabrera owner do you accept a straight up trade for Josh Hamilton?

Would you accept Longoria?

If not, what else would you need?

My line up -
Doumit, Fielder, Kinsler, Longo, Lowrie, Agon, Weeks, Bruce, Hamilton, Bourn, Parra, Pena

Nope. One of Hamilton's biggest question mark is health, not production.

I'm a Hamilton owner in a league and I would probably take Miggy right away. Hamilton is about as hot as he can get and he's usually injury prone. Miggy having 1B and 3B doesn't hurt either.

So, no is my answer.

i think most would agree. the other owner is a dedicated baseball fan and savvy manager. what else would you need if you're on the side that gives up miggy?

I'm fortunate enough to own them both, and the answer is no. If Hamilton plays 150 games he can be every bit as good or better than Cabrera (and everyone else in baseball.) But you just don't know how many games he's going to play and that's the only reason he wasn't a 1st rounder to begin with. Cabrera is one of the most consistently great players in the game and I wouldn't move him for Hamilton or Longoria.

There's no way I move Miggy for any one player who isn't named Kemp. Period.

In order for me to move him I'd need a first-rounder ala Tulo and some insurance as well. I'd probably want you to overpay so it's best not to ask.

The smart move is to stay with Cabby. Trading Miggy for Hammy is a pure gamble.
