I think this just sucks generally speaking as a baseball fan. It always sucks when a young potential stud player goes down. Pineda was downright filthy at times last season, and I was looking forward to seeing if he might regain that early season form. Looks like we'll have to wait at least another year to find out, and who knows how the injury/surgery will affect his ability. Just like Liriano (though he's shown brief flashes, he's never come remotely close to displaying the dominance he showed his rookie season), he may never be the same, and we, as baseball fans, may always be left wondering "what could have been?"

Man it must suck to have a GM who can't see 6 months into the future, or who doesn't have x-ray vision.

Um?
SecretAgentMan wrote:Wang got hurt and Kennedy they dealt because they had the great Phil Hughes lol. He is also the guy that turned down the Haren for Joba Chamberlain deal in 2010. That worked out well. When it comes to pitching, both he and the Yank farm system are complete disasters. I am sure he will manage to screw up Banuelos and Betances as well. If he keeps them they are sure fire flops. If he trades them he will do so for some stiff and they will go on to be all stars.
Sorry to interrupt your box of whine, but how many times have you been to the play-offs since 1996? What's that, you've been to nearly all of them? You poor thing, I don't know how you cope

Tough break for NYY, guess they just have to pay out 7/135 to get Cole Hamels now instead, maybe Greinke if they think his old anxiety issues can handle NY media. Either way, I think the Yankees will be just fine, it really doesn't matter when a young arm fails due to injury or suckage for them. They can just go out there and give a proven ace 20 million a season and forgot this mess ever happened.
Greinke is a possibility, since he recently acquired an agent, and days after the d-bag Giants gave Cain that ridiculous contract, negotiations with the Brewers for an extension fell through.
Funny story about him, at the team Expo in January he actually walked right through the middle of thousands of people to get to his autograph stage, instead of taking the side entrance like every single other player does. Wonder if he is being put through shock/flood therapy? After '08 the Yankees yanked us by signing both CC and Teixeira, screwing us out of the sandwich pick in the process, knowing them they'll sign Greinke and then KRod and do it all over again.
