Lincecum/Santana for Hamilton??

Postby jharwell626 » Wed Apr 25, 2012 5:10 pm

I am looking to pick up Josh Hamilton, as he is one of my favorite players and is hitting lights out. Problem is, I don't need any outfielders, so he would just be filling a utility role, so there's really no added value there.

I have enough pitchers to make up for Lincecum, and figure to pick up what I can on the wire to replace Santana.

So what do you think? Should I take the trade?

Hamilton is really, really good when he is healthy. The problem is that you know he won't stay healthy all year. So are you good with that kind of player? Personally I would take the deal but that has a lot to do with me not believing that Linc is a top 5 SP and more a top 20 SP. Plus you could always flip him or one of your other OF for help somewhere else.

I tend to agree with this but you should post your roster so we can see where you're strong/weak.

Gonna need your league size, settings, and your roster. If you think you can find Santana replacement on the WW, then you're probably in a shallow league. Still, I think you're overpaying for Hamilton who will inevitably be on the DL for a portion of the season.
