Kemp Trade, WHIR

Postby Brainstorm » Wed Apr 25, 2012 2:25 pm

12 team 5x5 keeper, we keep 10 a year at no penalty. I was offered Roy Halladay and Carlos Gonzalez for my Kemp. I love Kemp but do feel like my pitching could be an issue going forward... I'd probably drop Jimenez or Colon, or both in this case as I like to keep only 5 SP's on my roster during the year(have extras right now due to injuries and trying to find a good 5).

C- J.P. Arencibia (Tor - C)
1B- Eric Hosmer (KC - 1B)
2B- Robinson Cano (NYY - 2B)
3B- Emilio Bonifacio (Mia - 3B,SS,OF)
SS- Troy Tulowitzki (Col - SS)
OF- Jason Heyward (Atl - OF)
OF- Matt Kemp (LAD - OF)
OF- Alejandro De Aza (CWS - OF)
UTIL- Kevin Youkilis (Bos - 1B,3B)
Shin-Soo Choo (Cle - OF)
David Freese (StL - 3B)
Brett Gardner (NYY - OF)
Michael Morse (Was - 1B,OF)

Zack Greinke (Mil - SP)

If you're going to part with Kemp, this is the type of deal that would get it done. Kemp is bound to cool off a little. You're not going to get this offer again a month from now. I'd do it.

That's probably one of the few offers I would seriously consider for Kemp. You're not downgrading TOO much from Kemp->CarGo. You've gotta think that you've already gotten the best 3-4 weeks Kemp is going to have all year in the books. CarGo is looking like he's about to go on a tear with the two HR game last night. Halladay should still be a top 5-10 pitcher for the next couple years. I'd do it.

I would definitely do it. This is the type of trade that could put you in the championship game.

"keep 10 no penalty"

Kemp is a megastar, he is the next A-Rod and pujols.

Halladay will start declining eventually and cargo will never have a season like he did 2 years ago. If you trade kemp for a pitcher and a top 20 hitter i would want felix and there best or 2nd best hitter.

Completely agree with the other posters. This is probably one of the only deals with Kemp involved I'd consider and I say take it.

To update, I guess he woke up or something. He asked me to add Youkilis, so the trade would be:

Kemp and Youkilis
for
Cargo and Halladay

Is this still a go?

It's not a slam dunk but I would still do it.

Gah! Thats a tough trade to pull the trigger on. Kemp is easily the best fantasy player in baseball and hes still so young...But CarGo is no slouch either and you get arguably the best pitcher in baseball....this is a trade i wouldnt feel bad about if i did it so go for it
