Best FA Pickup? WHIR

Postby BronXBombers51 » Wed Apr 25, 2012 12:18 pm

12 Teams - 6x6 (Normal plus OPS & Losses) - Rotisserie - 4-8 Keepers per year

C- Jonathan Lucroy
1B- Miguel Cabrera
2B- Ian Kinsler
3B- Pablo Sandoval
SS- Troy Tulowitzki
OF- Josh Hamilton
OF- Jayson Werth
OF- Angel Pagan
Utl- Jesus Montero
Utl- Torii Hunter

B- Matt Joyce
B- J.D. Martinez
B- Jose Altuve
B- Colby Rasmus
DL- Michael Morse

SP- Felix Hernandez
SP- Matt Cain
RP- Rafael Betancourt
RP- Jonathan Broxton
P- Brett Myers
P- Alfredo Aceves
P- Sergio Romo
P- Brandon Beachy

B- John Danks
B- Erik Bedard
B- Jarrod Parker
DL- Sergio Santos

My team is doing pretty well across the board but I'm really struggling in W, L and K for pitching and SB for hitting (dead last with only 9 total on the year.) Wins and Ks are mostly because I haven't been using that many SPs. My struggle in L is probably due to the fact that my pitchers get atrocious run support.

I can cut Romo or, depending on how he looks in his debut tonight, Parker (not sure I want to give up on Rasmus this early.) There are some decent hitting options available and some pitchers that I'm not quite sure what to make of. Would you look to grab any of the following players?

Hitters:
-Gerardo Parra (hot right now, supplying speed which I need until C. Young returns)
-Carlos Gomez (another big speed guy WHEN he gets playing time)
-Alcides Escobar (more speed, plus would give me a backup SS for Tulo's off-days)
-Cody Ross/Chipper Jones/Nate Shierholtz (no speed but all are playing well so figure it doesn't hurt to ask)

Lorenzo Cain also clears waivers tomorrow if nobody puts a claim in. Supposed to be back this weekend from the DL. If nobody claims him he'll available too and might be my best bet.

Pitchers:
-Tommy Milone
-Jason Vargas
(not going to get many wins out of these two most likely, but they've been very good and I need to start throwing more innings)

Thanks in advance.

Stash Cain and ride the hot hand of Parra.

Only 2 DL spots and Cain suffered a setback yesterday so he won't actually be back this weekend. Leave Cain on FA and grab Parra? Or grab Cain and wait him out? (Also, Cain's injury is groin-related, which could certainly affect his speed.)

If you're going the OF route then ride Parra over Cain.

I personally like Milone a lot out of the players you mentioned, but with losses a cat and you're already struggling in W and K, he doesn't fit your needs.

Jesus got his C eligibility tonight, so I cut Lucroy for Parra. I can still drop Romo for one of the other guys though. I should also add that Tony Campana is available.

Romo for Milone makes sense to me. Milone's minor league K-rate makes me think he could actually be an asset in that category.

Help with mine? viewtopic.php?f=26&t=445230
