I trade Weaver and Jones to get Braun.

Good trade for you, your pitching can take the loss of Weaver. And Braun is a nice upgrade over Jones, even though i'm not a huge fan of braun this year.

If this is a re-draft league then yeah you do that. If it's a keeper league where you keep say 5 guys as your first 5 picks then you do it. But if it's got some keeper rules based on round the player was drafted (or price) you might not do it.
