I have ONE DL spot which currently I have Carpenter on. I'am going to do my best to get Ryan Dempster off Waivers, which is sometime tomorrow morning very early. He is supposed to be back early May and I feel if I were to snag him, he would make my pitching extremely tallented in a 12 team league. He was doing extremely well before he hurt his quad, and I WANT HIM! My question to you is: Is it worth putting in a Waiver Claim for him? I currently have the 6th spot, which would leave half the league behind me. I will of course drop Gavin Floyd after his start tonight. Is this smart or should I just man up take the risk and wait for him to clear Waivers? Trust me I will be setting my alarm clock for once he gets on FA, which is around 4:30am eastern standard time.
Thanks Fellas! Leave a Link. I'll do my best to help!
Pitching: SP: Tim Lincecum ; SP: C.C. Sabathia ; RP: Matt Capps ; RP: Fernando Rodney ; P: Josh Beckett ; P: Max Scherzer ; P: Shaun Marcum ; P: Jonathon Niese ; P: Mike Minor ; P: Chris Sale ; P: Gavin Floyd ; DL: Chris Carpenter
Thanks for helping me. I like Dempster, too, and I can see dropping Floyd for him. You might even be able to drop Carpenter - I doubt there will be a huge rush for him since he hasn't even resumed throwing yet.
In my league waiver position isn't that valuable since the order resets each week. If you really want Dempster go ahead and use it. He should clear waivers since he's injured, but I don't really know how competitive your waiver wire is.
Just noticed this, and it may help a lot! The last 4! I repeat 4! Waiver claims, were Raul Ibanez, Kyle Drabek, Nolan Reimold, and Derek Lowe. Which to me makes me realize that Waiver priority does not seem to be competetive in my league as I personally and I would figure most wouldn't waste waiver priority on any of those guys.....
So use my #6 Waiver spot for him? Seems like a no brainer now?

Absolutely go for it. Floyd has some ugly matchups after OAK; BOS, DET, CLE, DET. CLE isn't bad, but Det and Bos can hit so nobody pitching might actually be better than Floyd until Dempster comes back up.
