H2H Dynasty Trade involing Felix and Pujols

Postby silentjim » Mon Apr 23, 2012 12:42 pm

I'm in a 20 Team 25 man roster H2H dynasty league that counts OPS and Holds in addition to the normal cats. Daily Lineups with LF,CF, RF instead of OF and three UTIL slots. My current team is weak offensively and I was looking to move Weaver for an upgrade in 2 or 3 offensive slots. Trying to sell as high as I can.

One guy has Headley who's playing extremely well, Mike Trout, and Dee Gordon, Trout and Gordon being good dynasty guys obviously. What do you think I'd have to offer with Weaver to get all three? Seems like valuation on young guys is tough sometimes and I'd hate to overpay or deter with an lowball offer. His team is struggling since he's carrying quite a few prospects and unable to field max games played (Trout, Brett Jackson, Rizzo, Machado, Banuelos, Taillon). He has no saves guys at all, while I managed to nab Henry Rodriguez and Casilla.

Not sure he has any intention of competing this year, but still you can only play for the future for so long. Thoughts?

Update: Have an offer of Pujols, Mark Reynolds, and Mitch Moreland for Felix, Francouer, and Fernando Salas. Make this deal with out thinking too much?

Dynasty league or not Jered weaver has a lot of value. I would think you should be able to get a solid player for this season plus a player like Trout for him......

Another bad team has Billy Butler, Brett Lawrie, and Elvis Andrus, so I'm thinking about going that direction as well. Last week he tried to trade Lawrie and Andrus for Matt Garza and Matt Carpenter and it quickly got vetoed despite him wanting to do the deal.

Again any thoughts or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Weaver would be a round 2 guy, Gordan and Trout should be round 3/4, and Headley would be round 14-16, somewhere in there. You'd need to give up a closer and a decent position player, someone like a Delmon Young or Gaby Sanchez, to have much chance at this I would think. Maybe even more since the guy you're dealing with seems to value prospects, and Trout has legit potential to be the top player in MLB within 2-3 years.

For reference, in my league I got Giancarlo Stanton, Felix Hernandez, Colby Rasmus, and Carlos Marmol for Mike Trout, Eric Hosmer, Matt Moore, and Julio Teheran. When it comes to dynasty, top prospects take a lot to pry away.

Please evaluate my trade too: viewtopic.php?t=445003

Wow, that's quite the trade. I'd say yes, you have to accept but I think it's actually quite close.

Pujols > Felix (but not by much as it's a dynasty)
Reynolds < Francouer (I really don't like Reynolds, but whatever)
Moreland > Salas (This is where you win big, and this is the value which makes me accept).

You can easily take the hit of losing Salas, and Francouer is a Util player who is replaced by Sanchez moving from 1B, so it's all about losing Felix. I don't like it at all, but you gotta take it for Pujols.

I should mention that I managed to just get Pedro Alvarez on waivers today, which I'm hopeful for (two homers so far today).

But I did drop Jason Bourgeois for Campana and thus needed a RF, which is why Moreland is in on the deal. Salas was good for me last season, but I was contemplating dropping him at points, but couldn't quite pull the trigger on anyone.
